Lindsi was drafted fourth overall this morning to play for Sky Blue FC in the National Women's Soccer League. The 2013 NWSL draft was four rounds with 32 players being divided up into 8 different teams. Lindsi will be playing with Christie Rampone and goalkeeper Jillian Loyden from the US National Team.
Lisonbee-Cutshall was a MAC Hermann Trophy finalist this past fall, registering three goals and two assists despite starting on the back line for the Cougars. She also spearheaded a defensive effort that allowed a mere 13 goals all season long. In addition to being named the 2012 West Coast Conference (WCC) Player of the Year, Lisonbee-Cutshall was also selected to the NSCAA All-America First Team. For her college career, the hard-nosed defender made valuable contributions on the offensive end of the field, totaling 32 points on 13 goals and six assists over her four-year campaign.
"We are very happy to have Lindsi as our No. 1 round pick in the NWSL draft," said Sky Blue FC head coach Jim Gabarra. "She has, in my opinion, all the tools to be a good pro. I look forward to working with her."
We are so excited for you Lindsi! Good Luck we will be watching and cheering you on!!! Congratulations!!
