Well . . . today is the first day we got to sleep in, most
of us have been struggling to adapt to the time change, and have been getting
up early . . . but for some reason, maybe it was the cozy bed, or the warm
showers, or big hotel room . . . we all slept in today! We didn’t leave until 10 AM, so we had
plenty of time to sleep and eat a delicious breakfast of French toast, eggs,
bacon, fresh fruit, and my personal favorite chocolate cereal! The great thing
over here is that everything that is chocolate tastes good, and it has to be
healthy for you because it tastes so so so good!

Apartments in Old Town apartments
Today we got dropped off in the “Old Town” of Vienna to go
shopping, eat food, or to go sightseeing.
We had a few hours and some of us were able to see St. Stephen’s
Cathedral, and St. Peter’s church.
St. Stephen’s Cathedral started construction in 1347. St. Peter’s church is one of
Vienna’s most beautiful and famous churches. Emperor Leopold’s vow to build this church at the time of
the plague of Vienna in 1679 and the church was completed in 1733, and the first
structure was built in 1160. It burnt down in 1193 and it was re-build and then
burnt down in 1258.

We saw the City Center, Parliament, the oldest building in Vienna, and went to Belvedere. Belvedere was a summer residence for Prince Eugine of Savoy.

We had dinner . . . not sure what it was, I think it’s
called a Weiner Schnitzel, and it is made of turkey breast, fried in eggs and
bread crumbs. It was different . .
. and we had some good kraut . . . well that’s debatable if it was good! Then the girls, their parents and the staff went on the swings at the amusement park . . . it was so high, over 300 feet! It was really neat because you could see the beautiful sunset, and see all of Vienna!

Some of the parents decided to play bumper cars . . . Anne stated she loved it but she wanted to play soccer instead
Some of the parents were in the bumper cars . . . so so so funny! Hope Anne is okay after that exciting couple of minutes!
Then a handful of us stayed out to see the city of Vienna at
night . . . it was amazing! All
the cathedrals were lit up, and the lilac bushes have come into bloom, it was
awesome!
