BYU Hosts HaitI National Team

The BYU Cougars had the opportunity to host and play the Haiti National Team on Friday night.  What an amazing opportunity to be able to meet the girls from the Haiti National Team and learn more about them and their culture.  We were able to have dinner with the team before our game Friday night, and they are such an awesome group of girls, they had us laughing all night long.  I am pretty sure they had some better dance moves than we did . . .

BYU defeated Haiti in their international friendly 5-0 Friday night.  The Cougs first goal came from Cloee Colohan, assisted by Colette Jepson-Smith. The Cougs second goal was a beautiful header by Rachel Manning, assisted by Colette and Jaiden Thornock.  Ashely Hatch, our incoming freshmen, had her first college goal in the 39th minute and Marissa Nimmer knocked in her first goal of the season. Cloee finished the game with two goals, after she scored a free kick that bounced of both posts and the crossbar.

Both Haiti and the Cougs played a great game, and the girls are looking forward to their first regular game of the season. The Cougs host Cal State Fullerton, Friday, August 23 @ 7 PM.

Thank you Haiti for coming to South Field, we enjoyed having you, and look forward to watching you continue your journey to the World Cup!

GO COUGS!!!
