The Cougs just finished up two home games this weekend! The Cougs knocked of Cal Poly 5-1, and then battled with ranked Washington tonight and won 3-1.
The Cougs had 5 different players score in the Cal Poly Game! Cal Poly came out fighting, and they scored in the first 5 minutes of the game. The Cougs answered back with a shot off the crossbar from Jaiden Thornock, and then a goal from Michele Murphy in the 18th minute. Carlee Holmoe scored off a PK, when a Cal Poly defender had a hand ball in the box. Jaiden scored in the 29th minute to put the Cougs up 3-1. The Cougs created more chances in the second half and Lindsee Lisonbee Cutshall scored off a header on a cross by Carlee. Marissa Nimmer finished the scoring in the 84th minute.
Tonight the Cougs matched up against undefeated, ranked Washington! Washington was a great team, and made it difficult for the Cougs! Jaiden scored off a header from Lindsee Cutshall in the 12th minute of the game. It was Jaiden's 5th goal of the season. The Cougs held the Huskies to 0 shots in the first half. The second half was scoreless until the 75th minute when Jaiden took a shot that hit off a Huskie defender into the goal. The Huskie's answered back with 8 minutes left in the game. The Cougs still had time to put one more goal away, and Jessica Ringwood did just that one minute later off an assist from Murphy and Holmoe.
The Cougs head to Utah State this Thursday for their away game in 3 weeks! Keep up the good work Cougs!
